Well, damn. In the "About the Author" section:

Had no idea. It reads nothing like any of the books I've read by LCD...and yet, I can totally see it given the subject matter & how it was handled; breaking molds for Omega, trans & even women characters is something found throughout a lot of those Mountain Shifters books.

This was just done so much better.

I was pretty sure Nicolae Ursache had never asked for a damn thing in his life. He probably came out of the womb, cut his own umbilical cord and said, "Milk, bitch."

That should NOT be as funny as it is...I legit LOLd and then felt vaguely embarrassed by my reaction. But while typing this up I LOLd again, so it's still funny. *shrug*

I don't think I've ever run across a better explanation (even if it's a bit para-science-y) for how a vampire or werewolf "voice" works to influence others.
