The beginning is wordy and redundant. Perhaps there's a reason for it. The title being used in the book seems a bit weird, but since its a narration, I suppose its okay.

I really like the journal entries. They remind me a lot of how I wrote when I was still a teenager. They're random and hop topics quickly. Very teen-like. One thing that is distracting is the girl being called R. I understand the reasons to protect an identity, but it would be a lot less distracting if the person had a name, even if its completely different than what the person's real name is.
