I've plunked myself down and am watching Finding Nemo for the first time in FOREVER (because there comes a time when one just has to say "Forget productivity" and do what really matters), and there's a slight chance I may cry at some point.
(Also, I sat through the whole menu dialogue with Marlin and Dory:
"There are no wrong choices. The only wrong choices is to just sit there, like you're doing.")

Also, when Nemo almost gets sucked into the fan and the whole tank clan barely gets him out in time? Did you ever notice that they pull him straight into a group hug and just sit there panting? I MEAN SERIOUSLY THIS MOVIE IS NOT OKAY.
Haven't seen Finding Nemo in forever! Urgh, rewatching Disney movies when you're older changes your perspective around, doesn't it?

I just watched Finding Dory the other day and . . . who gave this movie about sea life permission to wreck my feels? xD
m a r y l i z wrote: "I just watched Finding Dory the other day and . . . who gave this movie about sea life permission to wreck my feels? xD"THAT IS NEARLY EXACTLY HOW I FEEL, MARY. Aaaahhh. I just finished watching Nemo (I was interrupted a few times, heh), and I think I can say, in total, complete, not-even-kidding seriousness, that it is one of the finest pieces of cinema I've ever seen. I appreciated it SO much more after such a long time. *cries a little*
Also, FINDING DORY. YES. INDEED. *whispers* The shells, Mary.
THIS MOVIE GIVES ME MANY FEELINGS. I watched it for the first time when a sibling was in the hospital; and . . . um, yeah.

Yep. <3 Pixar is just the thing for those situations.

Indeed! <3 When my youngest sister was in the hospital for several days, we older kids were home alone having a Star Wars marathon. And Pixar is so sweet and comforting.

We probably watched some Pixar, too, since it was several days. I don't remember.
The other day in Comp my classmates found out I’ve never watched Finding Nemo, and are now wondering if I even had a childhood. XD

Ahhhh, that's wonderful. <3 I wouldn't say Finding Nemo is one of my favorite movies, but it's definitely grown on me over the years and I SERIOUSLY FEEL ALL THE THINGS in that opening flashback. Like ouch. *cries*
The shells . . . *clutches heart*
Seneca -vive la gentillesse!- wrote: "The other day in Comp my classmates found out I’ve never watched Finding Nemo, and are now wondering if I even had a childhood. XD"!!!!!! I'm usually on the other end of that, with things like Disney Princess (which I do not regret). But Seneca, Pixar is ACTUALLY GOOD. The classic ones. Have you seen any of the others? They're clever and sweet and funny. You'd like them if you haven't seen all of them.
Like Mary said, I like some of the others better than Finding Nemo, and it's not my favorite by any means, but it's good.

Sorry to freak out, Seneca. ;) As I said, I'm usually on your end of it - everyone is shocked that I never watched any Disney princess cartoons growing up, and the only one I've seen is Beauty and the Beast at age 19. And I don't regret not watching them, and there's nothing wrong with the fact that you haven't watched much Pixar. I understand and am with you on that. ;)
Yessss, high five!!! Too busy reading is the best possible way you could've spent your childhood!!! Far better than even good movies. I didn't watch movies hardly at all till about age 10 (no Pixar till then), and I'm SO GLAD that all I did my entire childhood was read! I'm glad you did too.

(But seriously, I echo Mary: You should watch it.)

@Maryliz, Same here, Mary! Like, it's not one of my "heart stories," but it does have a place in my heart, all the same. ;)
I knooooooow. *sniffles*

YOU SHOULD WATCH SOME OF THE OTHER DISNEY PRINCESSES. Ahem. ;-P
Heehee, I guess it's to each their own. ;) And honestly most of my favorite "classic" Disney movies aren't necessarily the canonical PRINCESS ones . . .

But just curious - which ones would you want me to watch?
Mary wrote: "Olivia wrote: "Mary wrote: "Seneca -vive la gentillesse!- wrote: "Katie wrote: "Seneca -vive la gentillesse!- wrote: "The other day in Comp my classmates found out I’ve never watched Finding Nemo, ..."Mary--you should watch The Hunchback of Notre Dame, if you haven't. I'm glad you love it!
How does it compare to the actual classic? Do you associate them at all?

I look forward to hearing your thoughts, if you ever try it! :)
Here's a clip of the best song from the movie, "God Help the Outcasts"--it's probably one of the most profound Disney songs ever, and it's certainly my personal favorite. You might like listening to the song even if you don't enjoy watching it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pLCD...
Hm. *thinks* Well . . . the Disney movie has a happier ending, for sure. But I have friends (*coughs* Olivia *coughs again*) who love the original classic but also say that Disney did an excellent job capturing the overall spirit of the story. And even though the Disney version ends pretty happily--it's still very dark and very serious. It's really not for children, to be honest, or at least not for young children. It's brilliant, though.

Okay, I might if I can! :)
Hmm, nice! :) Haha! That's cool! My favorite history professor LOVES the original Hunchback of Notre Dame. He raves about how it's the greatest fictional love story of all time, or something of that ilk. LOL! XD

Well, my first recommendation would be the same as Katie's: The Hunchback of Notre Dame is wonderful. I also love Pocahontas -- that movie gets way too much flak and it Irks Me a bit. ;-P
I guess in general I would just always recommend the Disney classics just for the experience of having watched them. :) And, again, most of the best Disney classics, in my opinion, are not actually Disney PRINCESS movies, come to think of it.

Aww, yes! :) I did watch BATB, so be proud of me - at least there's that. ;) Ah, right! Yes, I feel like Disney Princess is overrated, but maybe that's just cause I didn't grow up on it at all.

I FORGOT ABOUT CORAL AND THE SWORDFISH.
