so far it's a wonderfully melty novel. everything swirling about and chaotic, perspectives shifting, quite messy really. and some really really long acrobatic sentences.

well, that was unexpected. But then again it does justify giving Lily such a large narrative presence in the first part. But boom just like that everything dies off, literally and metaphorically and now it's just one adrift soul trying to make sense of it all. Definitely one of those books/styles that one has to get used to but demands I read more of. which I will

That dinner scene was one heck of a pay off. Woolf's protagonist hire, Mrs. Ramsay is mercurial to a fault. I like Lily the best.
