I don't know if I'm going back to this book. Yeah, it's funny but I'm really missing something that would pull me back to it... maybe it is "sitcom style" to blame... or is it just me?

another gem: "I finally have found something you can do for me, and, by thunder, you’re going to do it! I want you to woo this young woman—”
“Woo?”
“Yes, woo! Don’t they teach you basic English in that damned school of yours?”
“They do, but the last person who used the word ‘woo’ died around 1930, I believe.”

“If I’m to be a ghost,” I told Caps, “I’m not haunting your aunt’s gloomy old place. I’d choose someplace livelier, more fun.”
