The story has slowed down a lot and its getting boring. The story came back to aibeleen so i hope it gets a little bit better since shes arguably the main character.

The story has started to slow down and get boring. The main points of my read were constantine leaving to chicago and he having a child.

Constantine and skeeter send each other letter while she's in college. Constantine moves to Chicago but doesn't tell her for fear that she'd fail her final exam. Skeeter applies for the Jackson journal and barely gets the job.

Eugenia tells aibeleen her life story and her childhood. I'm wonder if Eugenia hired her because of how much she reminded her of Constantine, the help when she was growing up on her farm.

Minny shows miss celia the usefullness of crisco and gives her cooking lessons. As i assumed would happen miss celias husband came home early while minny was there. Thankfully she hid in a closet until she found an opening to leave.

Minny gets hired by a new lady by the name of Miss celia. Miss celia's husband doesn't know shes hiring minny which could prove disastrous for both of them. She's only paying minny 2 dollars an hour which is almost nothing.

Aibeleen is constantly disrespected by her employer with Mrs. leefolt being the worst. The story is kinda slow with it still introducing characters and showing the daily struggles maid's have to deal with.

Aibleen describes her relationship with the people she works for and also describes Jackson, Mississippi. I wonder what will happen with mae mobley and her mother.

The book starts off very sad depicting the sad life that black folks had to deal with in 1960s Mississippi.
