I temporarily put this book aside after the protagonist's wife was killed in a bombing and a prostitute with a heart of gold and a link to the protagonist's childhood was introduced into the story. I don't want to believe that the book will go where I think it is going, but a part of me thinks it will and refuses to continue reading.
