What a beautiful romp this has turned out to. Can't remember ever having smiled so much while reading something I don't completely understand. Tempted to just start over now that I've realized it's not nearly as daunting as I was led to believe.

Made good progress on Friday, and then our cat had an accident in the bed. Of course, my current read is always next to me on the bed when I sleep so now there's cat poop on my nice new copy of Ulysses. New one on the way soon, but it's a little upsetting considering I was finally feeling like I was "getting" it. Still in the difficult-book mood, so I have started Women and Men. Will return to you, Joyce, I promise.

Well, I am beginning to see why this has such a reputation. I'm not the reader I thought I was. Absolutely gorgeous, though.

Joyce is pretty good. He should get more recognition.
