"Laurens' eyes brightened when Hamilton turned his smile the man's way...Jack saw a level of affection between them that made him wonder just how friendly they were with one another."
Damn, SV really did her homework for this book!

Okay, I need to read the actual book and maybe not fall into an internet spiral following source links to read more about Hamilton, Laurens and Andre...
Because, yeah, I've been doing that for almost an hour now.

I'm loving the sexy times between Jack & Eli...but something about the way the rest of the book is written - and given the need for circumspection in this era - makes me almost wish (I can't believe I'm about to say this) that there was a little less smut. Or that the smut was, IDK, more prosaic, or flowery? Kinda like the wording in Hamilton's letters to Laurens. (See previous update for link.)

Congress is "too caught up in their own importance" to see to the most basic needs of their people.
Wow, ain't shit changed in over 240 years.

Yeah, I know that Major John Andre is supposed to look like this.
BUT...
With the description of "elfin features" I'm going to keep imaging him as JJ Feild:

Because with Eli flirting and the hinted sexual attraction? *fans self*

Damn Real Life for getting in the way of me reading this!
Also, Jack just mentioned Ben Tallmadge & John Andre...which made me realize I never watched the final season of Turn: Washington's Spies.
This is what happens when you stop watching most television after years of 60-80hr watch weeks...you lose track of the few really quality shows that continue to interest you.
