Less psychelidness in Authority, as this novel takes place at the Southern Reach and not Area X, however the characters here are vividly depicted as sinister antagonists who smile in your face while stabbing you in the back. Absolutely incredible. I don't want this ride to end. The main protagonist, Control, has one of the best character arcs to which I can relate.
