Oh, FFS! The whole premise of this series is that Marissa's in that stupid Husband Hunters Club. Well, now she's engaged to Valentine and currently having a fucking fit because she isn't sure she wants to be married. Why are there still pages left in this book? D:

The hell is this sentence structure?

Should she continue with her chosen role or open her heart to him? But anyway it didn't matter because he was the one doing the talking.

WTF? Is this a blog? But anyway? O_o

Not that she cared about returning home a spinster. She'd rather be alone than marry the wrong man-that was what hunting the right husband was all about. But she was beginning to believe that the wrong man was in fact the right man, the man she should have been hunting all along.

I. Swear. To. God. One more mention of this damn husband hunting, and I swear my brain will shut down for good.

Marissa just stormed off in tears because Valentine wouldn't take her virginity. The problem is that I think he did just take her virginity. IDK what's going on here. The language is so vague. :/

Marissa's GRANDMOTHER gives her advice:

"I will speak frankly then, Marissa. It is better to spend an afternoon in bed with a man and discover if he's really the one you want to spend your life with, rather than marry him and find yourself a prisoner of unhappiness. Now you are shocked!"

What the HELL, Grandma? It's 1837! O.O Good advice in 2012 is still HORRIBLY BAD advice in 1837.

I'm about 99.99% certain that Marissa has multiple personality disorder. One minute, she's a bitter and judgmental shrew. The next, she's jumping Valentine's bones and saying she wants to "give herself up to pleasure."

I suspect that in the next scene, she'll request toast with her breakfast, and then a minute later, smash the plate against the wall screaming, "I fucking HATE toast!"

He closed the distance between them, taking her mouth deeply, completely. She made a sound but surprised him by not pulling away. He didn't plan to be gentle. He was going to show her the worst of mankind.

Oh, how ... romantic? :/

I'm dying. Dying, dying, dying. :(

Valentine's friend just got shot by a rival over that damn rose, and then this happens:

He handed his jacket to Marissa without a word and pulled his white linen shirt over his head, folding it into a thick pad, and proceeded to press it to his friend's bleeding wound.

Um ... o_O Why didn't he just use his readily available jacket to stall the bleeding? You know, since they're in PUBLIC and all.
