Thanks. Yeah, I know Russian, it's unofficially the second native language in my country (Ukraine) where pretty much everyone is bilingual. But this book is actually in Ukrainian.
She said it was pretty cool, but she doesn't remember much for she moved to Israel at the age of 8 or 9
I know, that's a former address (: I moved here years ago. I still have the US tag, though... Well that's mostly due to political reasons. A couple of times ppl wouldn't talk to me bcs my country is in the middle of quite a long international political fight (:
Uh-huh. Just a wild guess - you don't happen to be from Iraq? Honestly, I can't remember any other countries "in the middle of quite a long international political fight". Except maybe North Korea.
Yes, sure. I've enjoyed reading several Daphne du Maurier novels ("Rebecca", "My Cousin Rachel", "Jamaica Inn"), I absolutely loved Amy Tan's "Joy Luck Club" and Orwell's "1984". Among YA books I found "The Hole" by Guy Burt to be very interesting in a OMG-I-didn't-see-it-coming way. This book's title can be translated as "Grown-up Children". It's a very interesting coming-of-age novel + it's not often that I read books set in my own country.
And what about you? Any books you'd recommend?
