I have conflicting emotions on the story's ending, but in all fairness, it is an ending that is gritty and has far more realism to it than most stories I have experienced. These books will not be favorites of mine, however the Hunger Games is certainly not to be overlooked. Compelling and fraught with danger & suspense, just be sure you have something to comfort yourself at the very end to avoid your own depression.
