I enjoyed the book. As per usual, Scalzi's humor and characters carry the day. The setting and plot circumstances are solid but I just wasn't super invested. I don't think this is a function of the book, but more of my state of mind while reading it. I wouldn't recommend this as a first go at Scalzi (Red Shirts or Dispatcher) but it's still very enjoyable.
