The novel doesn't seem to be leading to any specific conflict. The book still remains interesting as I see more sides of Holden's personality. He has shown to be sarcastic, humorous and childish. Throughout the novel he seems to focus on the flaws of people, including himself, and what he can't stand. I enjoy seeing certain situations through someone else's thoughts and views.

At this point in the novel Holden shows excitement and joy when his roommate brings up an old friend of his. But, they later get into a fight since his roommate went on a date when it wasn't really because he 'liked' her. Overall I think Holden has demonstrated that he has a temper when he threw the first punch. This has seemed to be the first somewhat major conflict in the novel.

I'm enjoying the novel so far. It's told by a boy from a rich family, named Holden Caulfield, who has recently been kicked out of his school for flunking. This is not the first time he has been kicked out of a school. The novel is narrated in a very relaxed way. Holden has shown to hate many people in his life. I'm not sure whether he just complains about everything or if it's actually for good reason.
