Some parts were a little draggy, and there were a few too many characters (I guess my brain is weak. But also, a hundred people go to Mars and then a smattering of them are followed for the next ~500 pages, and occasionally people who have only been mentioned once or twice just kind of show up and you're supposed to recognize them...meh.

That said, the story and (most) characters were compelling.
