Also, I *still* don't get why Hermione had to lie to get Ron and Harry out of trouble, I guess Rowling needed it to make Harry and Ron see she could lie and break rules when necessary, but it would have been far easier to just admit they went looking for her because she did not know about the troll and ended up saving her life when he attacked her.

#HPReadAlong2018 Okay so this part was always kind of shakey for me. First, how and why did Snape suspect Quirrell? And second, why didn't Voldemort reveal himself to Snape? As far as Voldemort knows, Snape is one of his loyal followers. He was with Quirrell as Snape threathened him; why not show himself to Snape and turn him to their side?

Well, it's time to start on one of my least favorite chapters in all of the harry potter books, because it includes one of our dumbest moments and also causes me physical pain ayyy

And Harry... yes, there is no bringing back or getting to know the families he was born into. But that doesn't stop him from gaining the entirety of the Weasley clan as his family (lawfully!) and having the pleasure of having his two best friends, who are already like family to him, to be his true family.

I'd just like to point out... Both Ron and Harry got what they desired, in a way. Ron may not have been Head Boy & Quidditch captain, but he certainly grows to be the most famous and well accomplished Weasley of his time--and all by the age of 18. And he does so after being a member of the Quidditch team and Prefect. 1/2

I just... I can't. I need a moment to bask in the glory of J.K's writing. I never noticed all the titles the gang checked for Flamel were for modern times; Great Wizards of the 20th Century, Notable Magical Names of Our Times and etc. It's such a small, BRILLIANT touch.

But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them

This is the first time I have ever thought of this but... Harry needs glasses to see. How is he so good at catching small, flying objects? For that matter, how do his glasses stay on when he twirls and spins midair?? Is there some spell Rowling never saw fit to tell us about?? My freakin' sunglasses are hard enough to keep on my face, and I ain't doing no flying stuff...
