Like others who have read this, I found the three characters' individual stories were far more substantial than the present story that brings the three characters together. Each of their stories filled with sadness and in relation to real life events. As an immigrant and Guatemalan, I'm well aware of the MS-13 gangs. So Evelyn's detailed story was an eye-opener to me. Meant to post this review a couple of weeks ago!

Alright Latino friends (looking at South and Central Americans), this is a book you should read. Actually anyone that likes a good suspenseful story with crazies backstories connected to real life events, you’d probably enjoy this one too. Isabelle Allende is a Latin American author from Peru.
