So... this is a real thing:

http://stopthegrbullies.com/

The people who run this so-called anti bullying site are hypocrites, liars, slanderers and the very thing they claim to be fighting against. Shaming, defaming and bullying reviewers? Well done, you idiots.

Ridley Oh, M. What a cunt.

She always claims "This is about BOOKS" then she picks a side. But since she claims that all she does is read and laugh at people for their opinions, she is off the hook. Truth be told, she is a bully who claims that she is not while she is bullying other reviewers.

Jennifer D So I was still completely disgusted that the anti bullying stuff was still up (yes I went to the website and now feel all grimy and gross) so I emailed complaints to all of them in hopes that at least they won't have the cover of anti bullying in their obvious bullying campaign.

message 304: by Ridley (new)

Ridley I wouldn't call her a bully, but she's definitely an ad hominem spewing asshole.

message 305: by Galla (new)

Galla "My guess is that the Armentrout [sic] author was dying for some controversy/publicity and/or had been 'activated' by this very group of bullies to post a ranty little piece about this site on her blog."

Holy crap. You guys are Treadstone!

That is some truly vitriolic non-sense! I know understand why she is chiming up in support of this nastiness.

Jennifer D Project Anti Bully has sent its lawyers after the website and End To Cyber Bullying is apparently looking into it. They were real quick to respond to my emails.

This makes me smile. I can just imagine the look on The Injustice League's (sorry, couldn't help myself) face if/when they get a call from those lawyers. Seriously, I can't stand how they think they're untouchable.

Jennifer D I just wanted to post this real quick so you could see for yourselves. These are the responses I got...

Jen,
Thank you for contacting Project Anti Bully. PAB does not promote StoptheGRbullies.com and have already had our legal team contact them to address the issue of promoting our site as advertisement on theirs (Yesterday actually when we were informed of it).

Our method is raising awareness is a strictly confidential and PAB does not promote or condone StoptheGRbullies actions in publicly exposing individuals.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can do.

Hi. My name is Noah Salzman, and I am the Vice President of the End to Cyber Bullying Organization. I would like to notify you that ETCB has no affiliation with that website, but rather, this site authors decided to post our link as a reliable source for cyber bullying information. We do not support any online harassment, so no, we do not condone the behaviors of this website. We will definitely look into this further, but thank you for letting us know.

I'm glad to hear this. Hopefully they have the resources to do something about it.

Also, think about this. Searock has obviously been following Armintrout since that blog, an author she doesn't like, and is now happy that her stalking has lead to the blog talking about us "bullies." How sad is that?

message 315: by Bitchie (new)

Bitchie First time poster here with most of yall, but I just noticed all the anti-bullying links on the side are now gone, it's just the support indie author buttons now.

Jenna You guys, you guys! There's a new comment on the site from "Tinkerbell" defending her reasons for creating it- but Tinkerbell is supposedly just one of the "many" supporters, not a creator. "Peter Pan" is the only PP pseudonym on the "who we are" page. Has someone got their sockpuppets mixed up?

Wouldn't surprise me considering the intelligent level we're dealing with here.

Yet you, Kat, Ridley, and Lucy are supposedly the ones with no lives who gleefully antagonize people for fun. It is really sad.

Whatever the case, and whoever this 'Tinkerbell' is, there's a name for them, but it isn't said in high society - outside of a kennel. ;)

These cases do win too. I can tell you from personal experience to screen cap everything and print it out. Also, I can tell you that it will not be a problem for a lawyer to track down who posted what was online. Also, it's probably easier to sue for public disclosure of private facts then defamation (libel). Even though this is a pretty clear libel case.

Literary Ames I, er, did a little stalking of my own...and...er for those of you seeking legal advice/action...*coughcough*

The registration info doesn't match that of the infamous author who is also with GoDaddy and uses Yahoo email.

message 327: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Lol, DeepThroat, we've already discussed that. It's a fake name and most likely a previous address. Which is probably fraud on top of everything else.

message 328: by Literary Ames (new)

Literary Ames Yikes.

message 329: by Bitchie (new)

Bitchie If you google the name Athena Parker, the first thing you see is an obit for an 88 YO woman who died just a few days ago. People should really be more careful with their made up names.

And anyone can register something under a fake name and address, so long as the credit card number goes through.

Literary Ames Bitchie wrote: "And anyone can register something under a fake name and address, so long as the credit card number goes through."

I didn't know that. Everything I sign up for in the UK has to have names and addresses that match your billing (i.e. credit card) details or you don't get what you order.

Nasty Lady MJ @Skyla I noticed that. It makes me wonder if a lot of these accounts, like Nouda's have been sock puppet accounts that have been set up successfully for months being overlooked. Also, I noticed from the site that rated websites was linked here on an earlier page that the website owner's IP address had changed over the past year. Here's the link again: http://whois.domaintools.com/stoptheg...

Very interesting, Skyla..

I haven't visited GRbullies to read the recent posts, and am just catching up with posts here. Are the Tinkerbell posts in that familiar writing style?

message 342: by Nasty Lady MJ (new)

Nasty Lady MJ @Jim, it looked the same to me. I also took the Peter Pan theme of the name to signify that they were the same person given that the writer/writers of the site admitted the Peter Pan thing was directed at Wendy.

Thanks, YAL. I just wanted to see whether the evidence still pointed at the same likely source.

And the ownership of the website/domain is inconclusive because of the Monterey, CA location and probably fake name, is that right?

Jim Ridley wrote: "Both parties use a double space after a period in their writing.

Thanks, Ridley! I think it may be worth the time to home in on some of those similarities, and see what other writing samples show them too.

Just a suggestion...

message 347: by Nasty Lady MJ (last edited Jul 11, 2012 07:58PM) (new)

Nasty Lady MJ I know lot of people double space after periods, it's a pretty common thing I've had teachers say to double space-shrugs. But it wasn't just the spacing I noticed that was similar it was the use of phrasing, sentence structure, word usage, and long paragraphs that seemed similar to me as well. Note, Tinkerbell likes to use commas like someone who should not be named.

I really wished there was a website where you could just insert some text and it would compare the styles of writing.

I think everyone who learned to type on actual typewriters was taught to leave two spaces after a period. That's what they told me back in the IBM Selectric days, anyway. Hard habit to break.
