Hmm, if the images are taken without permission maybe the blog could be shut down for copyright theft. Might be wise to send out multiple abuse reports.

The site in general is really disturbing. And the syntax seems strangely familiar to me-I have my suspicions...Also, is just me or are they trying to be all ironic with their contributors. I.E. the whole Peter Pan thing I think is a rift on Wendy but I might be reading waay too much into it.

They apparently had a post about Wendy, but it was taken down. And yes, they have a Peter Pan theme, and yes, it's all familiar for a reason.

Essentially Melissa Douthit, a vanity author who has a less than clean history in author-reviewer relations, dug up tons of info on Wendy and posted it in a blog post shaming her for her now infamous review of The Selection. That post is now password protected.

Bradi, Melissa Douthit better known as Vanity posted a blog entry ranting about Wendy's review on The Selection and revealed private information about her. The site didn't take it down because Wendy wasn't a minor-at least that's the half ass reason I got when I got my reply from the abuse report.

A month or so ago, Melissa Douthit posted quite a bit of Wendy Darling's personal information on her blog. :/

YES. The syntax, the lexis, it really is just Vanity. I bet those four 'contributors' are just different accounts she logs into to make it look like she has followers to this pathetic 'war effort'.

Yep, pretty sure it's Vanity given the Peter Pan theme look at the comments from her supposed followers. Pretty soon I bet they'll be posting Nickelback songs.

Oh wow, I stepped out of reading her Selection review after a while, and had no idea that happened!! This is seriously disturbing.

So, a couple of things:

Was this a public thing, or does that mean that Lauren D has to be involved in that blog? Because I really want a reason to read and be snarky about Sever.

No professional author would be involved with this crap. This has vanity author written all over it.

I don't think Lauren D is involved in this blog. My memory is fuzzy but I think she was accidentally involved in a hashtag and then later apologized when she realized what the hashtag was referring to. I could've missed something but that's all I remember about her involvement in the dramas.

So, did Lauren post about blocking Lucy somewhere?

Lauren shouldn't be lumped in with any of this, she sent apologies to everyone involved. It wasn't a big deal, mostly a misunderstanding, and that's what happens when you stalk people and think you know what's going on.

No, she did block Lucy, but later unblocked her. Lauren is not involved in that blog.

OH MY GOSH! This is unbelievable! Someone is a "bully" now if they don't like someone else's book? That is insane.

The thing with Lauren involved the hashtag she didn't understand before joining in. I got annoyed because I specifically bought her book based on a pro-reviewer blog post she'd written a year earlier, so I dug it up and commented beneath the last comment (which was my own saying that I was going to buy her book because writers supporting reviewers was important to me.) She deleted my year old thank you comment and my newer 'so I guess this no longer stands comment' before blocking me...

I think she lifted the block when she started apologizing and clarifying her position. I don't even really blame her for deleting my newer comment because I think people saw it in my feed and started poking her, but I've left her blocked and never bothered reading her second book. I just didn't want to invest anything else in her, although I do believe her when she says she had no idea that the hashtag she participated in attacked a reviewer.

I also don't think she's involved in this site. I think Jamie McGuire and Jessica Park are too smart for this, but we all know Vanity has done something similar and done it very recently so that's who I suspect obviously. I think she'd get a very big thrill seeing herself listed with authors who sell books instead of drama.

Oh yes yes I just finished reading all the comments. And they do ugh yeesh. And to further back your claim up ever comment is from somone from peter pan What the hell is up with that. Is it because they can't seem to grow up and get over it.

Guys, I'm sorry this has happened to you. This is once again clearly disgruntled parties with an axe to grind, and I think even disinterested bystanders can see that there's obsessive, unbalanced behavior at work.

I think it's a good idea to look at this stuff through screencaps (thanks for that, Ashleigh Paige), as driving more traffic to that site is the last thing it should be rewarded with. And honestly, I know it's hard, but if you can manage it, THT's "I don't give a fuck" attitude is a good way to approach this. These types of personalities desperately crave attention, and they get off on the fact that people get worked up over it.

That doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get it taken down, of course. Ceilidih posted the appropriate link in message #47 where you can contact GoDaddy, but fair warning that they were not responsive to the many reports that people filed on my behalf back in June, and frankly I'm so over all this drama that I haven't chosen to pursue it further. FYI that a friend of mine had someone look at the MD post who specializes in computer and internet law, and he pointed out that the alleged support she received for that rant on her little blog were all written by her. (He pointed out subtle similar word usage and grammatical errors, etc.) The mental issues with this type of behavior go beyond the legal stuff, so...take that into consideration if you decide to pursue any action.
