With ch. 9 (213ff.), Roberts turns finally to the regime.

this chapter, 8, on Mussolini, is very illuminating...

In chapters 1-7, Roberts expertly and deftly shows how both the Revolutionary Syndicalists (from the Left) and the Nationalists (Corradini and Rocco et al., from the Right) arrived at the same point -- Corporativism or a totalitarian National Syndicates -- from quite different, even opposite starting points. This is a superb book.
