If you work with immigrants or immigrant children, I urge you to read this book. I assigned it to my students as well. The author, Valeria Luiselli, volunteered at the NY immigration court to aid immigrant children who did not have attorneys. She captures the confusion and difficulty of answering a "legal questionnaire" in the face of trauma, fear, and the way in which young people translate their own experience.
