Ohh the plot thickens!

If you took the political intrigue of Gundam, the military hardware of Starship Troopers, the slow burn suspense of pulp, and the "you can't take the sky from me" attitude of Firefly and put them all in a blender, this is what would come out.

You're doing a good job when I get Battlestar Galactica vibes.

I'm trying to think of any harder sci-fi that I've read or seen and I'm drawing a blank. The universe sounds like Space:1889, just without the steampunk romance.
