This book is wonderfully magical. Not what I was expecting actually. It's almost a grown up Harry Potter -only with a lot more sinister undertones regarding magic in general ..... and that doesn't even describe this book very well. It's been engrossing.

I love how this book makes magic soooo real - not because of what they do (that's thin on the ground) - it's what they encounter. Lev Grossman makes magic what it's supposed to be - magical, enchanting, unexpected and scary as hell.
