Anastasia But how do you know for sure? I mean, it's nice to try, I guess. But I'm always afraid I'll miss out on something.

idiffer cool to have so many books you know you'll love. i don't have that luxury

Sophie Gabrielle This is just the type of thing I needed to hear. I keep reading things that are just “ok” and forcing myself through it rather than reading stuff that will excite me. Life’s too short to read something that doesn’t interest you.

Sabrina this is exactly what I've been doing this year! I think I've just hit a point where I know my tastes and what I like learning or reading about so I can pick books out that I know I'll enjoy way more than books that are popular or hyped and I'm only reading for the sake of it...like obvs you can't read an amazing book every single time, but it's kind of a lot more fun this way rather than well....yeah reading something for the sake of it

Sabrina obvs do what you want haha this is just my experience this past year but I've read like. almost no bad or even mediocre books bc I finally know my tastes and I'm just following my gut now and it's great

i don't know for SURE, but I have five-starred about ten contemporary books this year. it's just not my genre as much as speculative fiction is :)
