This book is about these kids and that are about to be "unwinded" this means the parents choose when the child will be aborted at age 13 to 18 and the characters, Connor, Liv, and Risa all ran away when they had the chance and are surviving on their own. Leaving means that if in when they get caught they will then be unwinded and if they don't they will live for the rest of their lives untouched.

The two Conner and Risa are in the place the teacher sent them to. Its a underground place where and old lady keeps unwinds. There they were met by people who were saved from being unwound. They then were sent by the lady on a trip away from there, but they still had the baby. The teacher then came by to confront the two that they can't take the baby to where their going. As they left the teacher took the baby.

Lev is paranoid. He is desperately trying to escape the Unwounds that are trying to save him. Rina and Conner are trying to stay out of the public eye. But then after they were done at the bus they went inside the school where they hid in the girls bathroom stall. Not only that but with the baby that Conner took before they left. Lev then still desperately tries to escape and he goes out of the bathroom and tattles.

Conner makes a move that will change the whole point of survival for them. And that a baby. This baby isn't his its a storked baby. This means the baby has been left on the doorstep for the person living there to take or give up.
