I'm not actually reading this in German, although I did try. It's a very cool book -- four generations of Germans and Russians living in East Germany between the 1930s and 2001. I've never read anything from that place and time -- it reminds me of RED PLENTY by Francis Spufford, showing the other side of the Cold War coin.
