With writing my novel, we've been reading less. I'm trying to change that this week. Gotta push the brain else it'll fall back to I-don't-want-to-read injured state. Pfft.

I suppose I should work through the steps at the end of the anger and bargaining chapters to see what it's like to work through those stages for one particular person...

I'm in the bargaining chapter. Tried to summarize what I've read so far in this chapter. Complete, total blank of great swathes of it. Disheartening. (I was able to recall last week the gist of the book I've read up to before this chapter.) The idea of rereading slays me, but...

We've done denial (a common response to the literally unbelievable diagnosis of brain injury). Now on to anger. Often in therapy, you hear anger = bad. But here they talk about honouring anger as it comes from same place of integrity as forgiveness.

Had to read again examples of how denial expresses itself. Abstract concepts can seem easy to understand but...sometimes not really!

Began reading this Aug 15th and forgot to input it here. Oops. I'm following and understanding it a lot easier than the last three times I read it or began reading it! Also helps am reading it with two different people and rereading and working on recall what I already read with first person. Maybe I should add this strategy to reading rehab suggestions...
