Currently in the book, Magnus, Halfborn, Sam, Alex, and Mallory have gone onto a bright yellow warship given by Magnus's father, Frey, and have begun their quest to defeat Loki. One of the main conflicts in the novel is the battle between Magnus and his friends and Loki and his band of giants and zombies. This conflict is character vs character, since it is between Magnus and Loki, two main characters in the book.
