Not too bad. A little predictable now and then, but enjoyable. I'm a fan of stories about the people who were here through the times before me. I like the real life aspect of this, real people feel. It's about a young woman who rather fell into the role of midwife in a rural mining town. Written from her aspect it is interesting and informative. I enjoyed it.

I'm really loving this book! One of my favorite things all my life has been the back and forth genre in books. This story is so clearly and concisely put together. It flows from one age to the other, each with its distance and design. The characters are distinct. Each lives in their time, but are real people, who act as they must but their thoughts belong to themselves.
