The disappointment I am experiencing comes from the fact that this collection is not essays but rather ethnographies more suitable to a Sociology or Anthropology class. Now I have no problem with that, just have to get my brain into the headspace to read it.
The main problem I’ve always had w/ scholarly writing is that it’s done by scholars and not writers.
