What are your thoughts this far?

To be honest, I am struggling a bit with the author's writing style. She's all over the place. There are some strong scenes, but then there's a lot of jumping around in telling the different character's backstory which is rather hard on the reader.

I have about 50 pages left and will be writing my review later today or tomorrow. We'll see how I feel after the ending...

I know what you are talking about. The writing style seemed a little unpolished at times. I did read an ARC which is why I hoped that it would be better in the published version.

It feels like 90% of the books is background stories, which bounce all over the place, and about only 10% is focused on the actual mystery itself. So far 2 days have gone by and not much time has been spent on developing the investigation. Some editing would have helped tighten these problems up.

Personally, I believe this book only tries to be a mystery but fails miserable. The investigation wasn't that important in the end. I liked the book a lot more when I finally understood that.
