I think we can all agree Elise is bad at making decisions. She chooses one option, which is not always the best option, and just moves forward without consulting anyone else to see if they have a better idea. Ex: Deciding becoming a courtesan is her only choice to get money. And, probably whatever it was that made her jilt Lucien in the first place.
