The Way of Heaven diminishes the more-than-enough to supply the less-than-enough.

In governing a people and in serving Heaven,
There is nothing like frugality.
To be frugal is to return before straying.
To return before straying is to have a
double reserve of Virtue.
To have a double reserve of Virtue is to
overcome everything.
To overcome everything is to reach an
invisible height.
Only he who has reached an invisible height
height can have a kingdom.

Use the lights, but return to your insight.

For to be over-developed is to hasten decay,
And this is against Tao,
And what is against Tao will soon cease to be.

To be one with the Tao is to abide forever.

We make doors and windows for a room; but it is these empty spaces that make the room livable. Thus, while the tangible has advantages, it is the intangible that makes it useful.

Therefore, the Sage manages his affairs without ado, and spreads his teaching... He accomplishes his task, but does not dwell upon it.
