I predict that Madeline will become sick on this trip to Hawaii. She has no medication on her and no family members around to help her, besides Olly. This shows me how brave Madeline is, she is risking her whole life for one perfect trip in Hawaii. She is even brave enough to go cliff diving and swimming in the ocean. I also think that her mother might come to Hawaii to take her away from Olly.

Maddie is very much affected by Olly. He pushed her out of her comfort zone and made her more brave and courageous. This is why Maddie rebelled and decided to travel to Hawaii even though she knew that contact with the outside world might mean death. But she went because Olly opened up her eyes to a whole new world.

Madeline has gone from being a scared, timid person. To someone who wants to defy the odds, and who is more brave. I think she was affected this way because Olly came into her life. He made her more brave and more immune to the word outside, exactly the reason why she ran away from home and traveled to Hawaii. She also became more resistant to her mom and more rebellious because Olly came into her life.
