As I have finished book one, I thought I should leave my thoughts. Right now, I would rate it 3 stars. It took me nearly the entire book to get pulled into it and the plot feels very simple. The main character Farris annoyed me constantly. I almost can't stand her. I really wanted to like Sasha but he kept falling flat, 2-dimensional. I like Riften though. He's about my favorite character now.
