The author finally starts writing about how her parents are taken away from her. The sad part is that, after her family wins the lottery, their parents are gone. She writes about how unexpected it was. It made me think about how hard it would be for someone. I just started reading about this issue and it is extremely interesting to go through her thoughts. I just started so im ready to continue it more in depth.

Diane is an actress on the hit show Orange is the new black. In this part of the story, she starts to introduce her love for singing and acting as a child/teen. She also writes about how this affects her family and lifestyle. She realizes how education is important to be successful. These issues all connect to her family and can affect them greatly.

Diane goes through family issues and stories. She starts to realizes the dangers of immigrating. This does not stop her from living her life. Despite her family has financial and emotional issues, she still continues to be the bright person she is. She figures out where she stands in her situation and in her family. Even though I only went through a couple chapters, the story is beginning to be more interesting.

Guerrero(narrator) introduces her family and thoughts on them. She explains how her everyday life as a child that just moved to america.(that could be immigrated) Her family and people around her were very resilience. I really admire this idea showed in the book. So far there isnt as much emotion than I was thinking but I just started the book so I am sure it will happen throughout the story.

Because I just started I do not have many opinions on this book yet. The introduction is very extra and many of the parts are not necessary. Though she leaves off with a cliff hanger; it is pretty obvious what will happen next. However, I like how she uses causal language and pictures to show off her past. I am looking forward to reading more about her experience on immigration.
