Just finished the first section of the book, and it hasn't gripped me yet. I know it's still super early in the novel, but 100 Years of Solitude was so engrossing so early on, I was hoping for something similar. Clearly this is a different kind of story. Marquez wrote this much later in his career too. We'll see how the next hundred pages go, I guess!!
