So guys I have an existential doubt, I have seen more more people replying to comments starting with @nameofthepersonyouareresponding, instead of just hitting reply botton. Those it work better? Do people actually get notified back? Because when I do it with the normal system it doesn't work out.🤔🙁

idt u get notifs for that, im pretty sure it's just for the aesthetic???? lkke it looks cleaner when there r a lot of ppl talking than the 'xxx wrote...' thing

yeah I think anna is right, and I'm not sure but I think it also has something to do with people answering via app instead of through the website
i think that if you set it so you get notified when someone comments on an update you've commented on, you'll get a notif for it. (unless you're me and goodreads doesn't answer to my preferenced. 😤) i don't think you get notified when someone REPLIES to you, just when they comment on something you commented on (if that makes sense...?) but it definitely looks cleaner to do "@name".
@anna yeah i get it, it looks better. I may start doing it. To be honest GR is so bad at notifications and makes conversation never fully evolve * sigh*
@Anja I use both, but now that you bring it up, it most be true. Although I messed up my app. Sigh.
