I think that when leper freaks out, it is not because he is scared, but because he cannot stand the idea of war. I think that if leper was to enlist in the sewing troops, he would not have gone crazy.

I think that if i were Brinker, I would not be hammering Gene with so many questions. I think that i would know that he did it but he did not mean it. I would just leave Gene alone.

I think that if i were leper, I would want to do exactly what i was doing, which was enlisting in the war with the ski troops. I think that if i had to make a decision about going to war or not, i think that i would say no because i would have waited for the sewing troops to come and then i would want to be with them.

Right now i think that gene is trying and not trying at the same time to become finny. Gene is really more of the academic type and not the Sporty type.
