Just had to stop to note one phrase... it made me laugh so hard I cried... you will get it when you read the book... not gonna ruin it for anyone... but the line is "O. T. Hugh-Manatee". This may have struck me as particularly funny due not only to the author's use of it but also because my Master's degree thesis was on manatee ecology. :o)

Honestly did not know what to expect when I started this book, but realized quickly that the author was writing in a similar mode to Terry Pratchett's Discworld. After finishing the first 40% of the book I have to say the author not only makes his take on the absurd and truly fantasical unique and very much his own but does it on a level on par with Prachett's. Loving this book thus far!!!!
