This is a gem of a read so far and should be at the top of the list for anyone who loves Gene Stratton Porter, Louisa May Alcott, Dorothy Canfield, or if you happen to be an educator, homeschooler, or parent of a reluctant learner.
Warning: In the first part of the book the dialogue is written in Scottish dialect and at times can seem like a totally foreign language.
