T.A. Webb
T.A. Webb is finished
I finished the book last night, and I am waiting to get myself under control before I try to compose a review. I am angry and feel betrayed by this book. The fundamental relationship between a Dom and a sub is hugely violated here, and blurred with Master/slave, the use of erotic knife play with a cutter is portrayed as acceptable, and the power exchange so inherent and necessary in a D/s relationship is corrupted.

I'm approaching this with trepidation. I love Ms. Ashling, but I absolutely hated 'Vessel'. Trent made me ill. But I really loved 'Cutting Cords', and want some resolution with Cole. Don't disappoint me. Please.

Monika Boy there has been a few times I wish I had done that, wait until later to write a review. Even when the only reason is I'm not sure about how I feel about the book, many times I've gone back re-read my review and thought why did I write that?!

Love your reviews by the way!

T.A. Webb Thank you Monika! I am hot under the collar and NEVER get that way!

Jenn Oh Tom!!! {hugs} it's totally wrong but now I want to read this book to see what you are talking about. Is the the knife play here like it is in The Administration?

Anke Thank you for your update. I was thinking of buying this, but was unsure. You helped me decide. I'll save the money.

T.A. Webb Jenn, it's bondage combined with cutting with a very sharp knife on his back or shoulder. I have an issue with his mental health condition of being a cutter, and the Dom (ugh) using it as an erotic measure.

Enny You perfectly summed up my feelings about the book!

T.A. Webb You read the trilogy too, Enny?

Enny Tom wrote: "You read the trilogy too, Enny?"

Yes, I did - unfortunately. The first one was great, the second one truly awful but because I loved Cutting Cords so much, I had some hope that the author would fix it in this book so I read Cleave as soon as possible. Turns out I shouldn't have bothered. The D/s was really messed up, I ended up hating the characters even more and the constantly switching POVs didn't help either.

L'marie I sure was hoping this book would make up for the last one, guess not. I hate leaving a series unfinished so I'm pushing this to the very bottom of my list. Thanks for the update Tom.

T.A. Webb Thanks, Enny. I thought it was just me! I felt the exact same way. The D/s relationship was forced and unrealistic, and I hated Trent. Still do.

And L'Marie, read it if you want to get worked up! LOL
