T.A. Webb
is finished
I finished the book last night, and I am waiting to get myself under control before I try to compose a review. I am angry and feel betrayed by this book. The fundamental relationship between a Dom and a sub is hugely violated here, and blurred with Master/slave, the use of erotic knife play with a cutter is portrayed as acceptable, and the power exchange so inherent and necessary in a D/s relationship is corrupted.

I'm approaching this with trepidation. I love Ms. Ashling, but I absolutely hated 'Vessel'. Trent made me ill. But I really loved 'Cutting Cords', and want some resolution with Cole. Don't disappoint me. Please.

Oh Tom!!! {hugs} it's totally wrong but now I want to read this book to see what you are talking about. Is the the knife play here like it is in The Administration?
Thank you for your update. I was thinking of buying this, but was unsure. You helped me decide. I'll save the money.
Jenn, it's bondage combined with cutting with a very sharp knife on his back or shoulder. I have an issue with his mental health condition of being a cutter, and the Dom (ugh) using it as an erotic measure.
Tom wrote: "You read the trilogy too, Enny?"Yes, I did - unfortunately. The first one was great, the second one truly awful but because I loved Cutting Cords so much, I had some hope that the author would fix it in this book so I read Cleave as soon as possible. Turns out I shouldn't have bothered. The D/s was really messed up, I ended up hating the characters even more and the constantly switching POVs didn't help either.
I sure was hoping this book would make up for the last one, guess not. I hate leaving a series unfinished so I'm pushing this to the very bottom of my list. Thanks for the update Tom.

Love your reviews by the way!
