It turns out I accidentally skipped a book in this series (Endymion, this one's immediate predecessor), but it's actually making the experience kind of interesting and enjoyable. I still spend a lot of time mentally editing the prose, but it's finally starting to get kind of interesting. A good doorstop for transit reading.
