I think the first time I read this book, I didn't really like Holden's character. He kind of seemed to annoy me, but as I read this book a second time, I can really relate. I know I've been in a situation where instead of facing my problems, I run away from them, of course my problems haven't been as big as Holden's. I think it's safe to say that this is one of my favorite books now.

I've decided to reread Salinger's classic novel The Catcher in the Rye. The first time I read it, I don't think I fully understand some of the major themes, but this time around I understand more of what's going on between the lines. Holden is obviously very cynical about people and generally untrusting with most and I think that really makes him an interesting character. This book is certainly becoming a favorite.
