The characters use different names and nouns to refer to one another, emphasizing that no person can be defined by a single identity or characteristic. Reducing someone to a noun can also serve to dehumanize them, creating emotional distance and detaching them from the relationships that define them.

This might be a rare occasion when I enjoy the physical book more than the audiobook. I find myself zoning out listing to the audiobook, and totally engrossed reading the physical book.
