How can you be sure you're really in Los Angeles when you finally get there? A double-walled fortress defended on all sides by false cities. Rogue cities. Ghost-L.A.s with the real city hiding somewhere behind a screen of deceptor-cities. How many people come aiming for the center, only to bounce off? Or bog down and get shunted off to some secondary satellite city. Stuck on the periphery of what's really real.
