At first I was worried that these stories would only show one side of the Latino experience. Then I read 'Guera' and was hooked. I could totally relate with this character as I'm fair-skinned and often people don't think I understand Spanish because no way I could have Mexican culture as I'm 'white'.

Little do they know my grandfather was half-Mexican.
