I've been away from this book too long, and was unable to simply pick it back up. This is, perhaps, a positive thing - the story was sufficiently layered that I wasn't able to recover everything from context.

Or, it just means I wasn't able to remain interested the first time around. I find it very hard to leave a book half-read - so I am starting over and hoping for the best.
