Polynyas’s Reviews > The American Way of Death Revisited > Status Update

The writing is very dry, in a mid century way. (The first edition of this book was written in the 60s. This version was released in the mid 90s, just after the author’s death.)
I appreciate that she has taken time in this recent chapter to touch on the policies that the private funeral industry espoused during the AIDS epidemic and the injustice thereof.

Chapter 1 is hilarious. We’ve skewered a man with the nickname Colonel Cinders and airbrushed makeup from a company called Dinair Airbrush Systems at a conference where the author was a guest.
